Why do I need a login and password?
The Events Module and the Dashboard tool for Breakthrough Goals resides in our conference database, the Connection. You may have accessed this database over the last year to register online for an event. The Connection is the database the district and conference staff use on a daily basis for such tasks as updating contact information. As the pastor, you have access to your personal record and to your church’s record via your personal, confidential login. You may designate other persons in your church to also have access to specific parts of your church record (like the Breakthrough Goals area), but because each login has specific security permission assigned to it, please do not share your confidential login and password with others.
How do I obtain a West Ohio Conference login and password?
First requirement - you must have a valid, unique email address not shared with anyone else....and it must be on record with your district office so they can input it into your confidential record in our Connection database.
For events registration, you simply click on the Register for Events link on the right side of the West Ohio Conference website home page. You will be taken to a login screen where you can create a login account, or retrieve a forgotten password if needed. This is your West Ohio Conference login and password.
For church data entry for breakthrough goals, all clergy who are assigned or appointed to churches have been given access to the online data entry and can access the data entry area by using their West Ohio Conference login and password - the same one you use for events registration. If you are an appointed or assigned West Ohio clergy and attempt to login and do not have access, please contact the conference communications office at 614/844-6200 or westohio@wocumc.org.
Tips for login access if you are having trouble:
Click on "Request New Password", type in your email address, and your login user id and a link to create a new password will be emailed to you.
What if I share an email address with my spouse or other person or my church?
In order to have a login and access events registration or breakthrough goals data entry, you must have a unique email address not shared by anyone else in the database. Anyone can have a record in the database, but if they don't have a unique email address, they will not receive important conference emails directed to them based on their position, and can't login.
Free email addresses are available from many internet providers - Gmail, Yahoo, etc. Our suggestion is that one of you get a free email account which you provide to the district office as your primary email account. Then if you don't want to monitor multiple email accounts, just have all the emails from that new account automatically forwarded to whatever email address you wish to monitor.
