West Ohio United Methodist Camps and Retreats, through creative outdoor programs, seeks to proclaim the Love of God in Jesus Christ. The experience of Christian community is a goal of all camp activities including interpersonal relationships, worship, study, and recreation. Dedicated staff are essential to the creation of community. Staff who work at our camps and retreat centers are expected to pattern their lives so they become examples and a credit to the Christian faith and The United Methodist Church. We believe that a joyful and wholesome life can be lived without the use of tobacco, alcoholic beverages and hallucinatory drugs; therefore, all staff are required to refrain from use of these substances and shall not be under their influence while on duty and/or on the campsite. As an expression of its mission and philosophy, the West Ohio United Methodist Camps and Retreats Ministry desires to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, guests and staff – especially children, youth, vulnerable adults and persons with developmental disabilities. To this end, all camp staff working with these persons are required to provide a disclosure statement and an affirmation of their acceptance and understanding of the mission, core values, and philosophy.
